What we do
The IPPF European Network region stretching from Western Europe, over Central and Eastern Europe to Central Asia is so diverse that we have not one single profile of member association. We respond to the given situation in a country and what the most pressing needs are of the population. We have service providers in the west (France and Germany) as well as organisations being the experts on sexual health and research (Belgium – Flanders and The Netherlands). We have very small organisations specifically focusing on advocacy work and in many cases being the watchdog for government action in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia). We have member associations that are funded by their governments to do what the governments cannot or do not want to do but many more where governments are still reluctant to recognize the value of civil society organisations.
IPPF European Network Office provides technical assistance, funding, ideas for specific projects, nurtures partnerships, provides places for exchange of experience and assist the member associations to in a transparent and democratic manner.
We focus on 5 areas of work as cross cutting issues: adolescents, advocacy, access, abortion and HIV/AIDS with rights and gender.
