Everything is Possible: Joint Expo IPPF and Rutgers WPF

03/11/2011

On 25-26 October, IPPF and IPPF Dutch Member Association Rutgers WPF jointly hosted the Youth Expo, “Everything is Possible” in the Netherlands. The event was organized to showcase the amazing projects implemented with funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, share best practices and once again demonstrate the ability of IPPF, its Members Associations and its Partners as leading organizations in the field of youth sexual and reproductive health and rights worldwide.
The event brought together donors, representatives from national and international NGOs and youth networks such as YSAFE (IPPF European Network's youth group), YAM (IPPF Africa Region youth group), SARYN (South Asia Regional youth movement), CHOICE (national youth organization based in the Netherlands) and Independent Youth Alliance (ARI) Indonesia.

YSAFE members took this opportunity to present and promote the I ♥ Being a Girl project - an empowering youth led initiative, “Decision” and “Odeta’s Journey” videos filmed in the Republic of Macedonia and Albania under IPPF’s "Girls Decide" initiative. "Girls Decide" was launched in 2010 with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Strategic Alliance with International NGOs (SALIN).

During the event, IPPF also launched its new website www.myx.ippf.org, a comprehensive resources centre where young people can obtain youth friendly information about sexual and reproductive health and rights.

The Expo was followed by the launch of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)  State of World Population report 2011 under the theme “People and possibilities in a world of 7 billion”.
