The Brussels based European NGO Confederation for Relief and Development (Concord) organized on 26 March a High-Level Leadership forum, gathering the presidents and CEO’s of their membership. Concord has 40 members representing more than 1600 NGDOs across the European Union. IPPF EN Regional Office is an active member of Concord which is the main interlocutor of the European Commission when it comes to development cooperation.

The Forum was addressed by the President of the European Commission Mr José Manuel Barroso who spoke on the issue of "How Europe can mitigate the impact of the economic crisis and climate change on developing countries". Workshops were organized around the future role of European development NGOs and whether the economic crisis could be an opportunity for development actors.

IPPF EN was represented by its President, Elena Dmitrieva from Russia; the executive directors from the member associations of Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands and the Regional Director.
