In the Netherlands, 40% of women and 7% of men have experienced some form of sexual violence at least once in their lifetime. IPPF Member Association, Rutgers Nisso Groep along with a number of other national organisations has set up a partnership-oriented approach towards Sexual Violence in order to improve the methods of dealing with this particular issue. The Partnership aims to put sexual violence on the social and political agenda and also to improve the cooperation in terms of prevention and judiciary and counselling methods.
