IPPF Innovation Fund

6/18/2008

As in previous years, IPPF EN member associations participated enthusiastically in the 2008 call for concept papers by the IPPF Innovation Fund, submitting a total of 18 concept papers for a wide range of projects. The Innovation Technical Committee reviewed the concept submitted by MAs from across the Federation and took its final decision in April. Of the 7 concept papers selected by the committee, two were submitted by MAs from IPPF EN: Poland and The Netherlands.

The concept paper entitled Understand and help submitted by the MA of Poland aims to improve the SRH of migrants and asylum seekers who have settled in Poland after the broadening of the Schengen Zone. The project, which will be implemented in partnership with IPPF MA of Germany, Profamilia, includes a advocacy component to raise awareness and improve policies on the SRH of asylum seekers and migrants.

The Rutgers Nisso Group (the MA of The Netherlands) received approval for a project entitled: Totally Secsy..! Comprehensive Toolkit with framework, checklist and tools for Sexuality Education & services for Chronically ill or diSabled Youngsters. Under this project the MA will work closely with young people who are either chronically ill or disabled together with their care providers and parents to develop and then implement sexuality education tools based on a rights and gender based perspective. When completed the tools developed under the project will be shared throughout IPPF and beyond.
