IPPF Member Association of Belgium (Flanders), Sensoa has recently launched a year-long campaign to talk about gay men and HIV, responding to an ever increasing number of those who are HIV positive. 'Think Positive, Live Positive' is the initial title of the campaign, indicating that 1 out of every 20 gay men is HIV positive. This campaign is the largest ever conducted by Sensoa around questions relating to men having sex with men and HIV. The purpose of the campaign is to raise the awareness of the gay population on HIV risks, for oneself but also for one's partner and sex partners. The title of the campaign will later change to 'Love Positive' (gay men want to have safe sex), 'Act Positive' (gay men are aware of their HIV status), 'Talk Positive' (gay men talk about HIV with their (new) partner), 'Live Positive' (gay men know that HIV is part of their life, whether they are HIV positive or not).
Campaign tools include a website with information on HIV as well as written and visual testimonies. Sensoa will also come up with a new information brochure on HIV later this year.
