UNFPA is in the process of decentralizing and moving its offices to the regions. This means that soon the Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) will be located in Bratislava in Slovakia with a field office in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The new Regional Director for UNFPA EECA, Ms Thea Fierens and the IPPF EN Regional Director, Vicky Claeys, met recently at the UNFPA EECA Regional Planning meeting. This meeting offered the opportunity for both organizations to exchange information and develop the relationship for the future. The meeting also provided for exchanges with national UNFPA representatives from within the region.
