The Czech Society for Family Planning and Sex Education (SPRSV) has three clinics in Prague and one in Brno, offering a range of contraceptive and counselling services.
Two of them operate a telephone helpline service run by trained volunteers. Our activities focus mainly on information and education activities for the general public, using the media.
The Czech family planning association will organize seminars and lectures on sex education and reproductive health in districts all over the Czech Republic.
They are aimed at different target groups, especially teachers, women of fertile age, teenagers and young people in the military service. Topics covered include:
- prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS
- child abuse
- violence against women
SPRSV co-operates with Members of Parliament, Scientific Institutions and Municipal Local Authorities (the President of the FPA is the vice-president of parliament) and many scientific societies, Gynaecological, Sexological, Demographic, Sociological, are also Board Members of the FPA.
We will continue to produce a bi-monthly journal summarising relevant material from various Czech and international publications.
SPRSV offers a free telephone helpline on contraception, operated 12 hours a day by our trained staff.
Our Youth Programme, based on peer group counselling, is developing a sex education programme.
