The Antigua Planned Parenthood Association (APPA) was the first organization in the country to offer family planning services.
We maintain a clinic at our headquarters, where we provide a full range of clinical services and counselling.
APPA conducts information and education activities to complement the national programme.
We offer family planning education and counselling to adolescents and provide family life education in schools.
APPA holds workshops for teachers and gives presentations at schools, churches and to various community groups.
We also sponsor television and radio programmes and a counselling hotline for teenagers.
Increasingly, our programme focus is on meeting the needs of adolescents and we have recently introduced a homework tutoring program and workshops for parents of adolescents.
APPA provides family planning services through 24 community outlets and runs a mobile clinic to reach work sites and rural areas. We provide family planning education and counselling on sexually transmitted diseases through the community programme.
We are part of the Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation Ltd.

The CFPA also plays a vital role in strengthening the capacity of its FPAs to meet the challenges of the region.
To this end, we have raised monies from:
IPPF
European Union
CIDA
USAID
UNFPA
Population Concern
to institute regional information and education campaigns on:
family planning
teenage pregnancy
sex eduation in schools
cervical and prostate cancer
HIV/AIDS
Many of CFPAs affiliates have a Youth Advocacy Movement (YAM) - groups of young men and women who function like a junior arm of the FPA, are trained by the FPA in SRH issues and carry out outreach work among youth on behalf of the FPA.
