Centro de Investigacion, Educacion y Servicios (CIES) is the leading non-governmental organization in reproductive health service delivery in Bolivia.

Since 1994 IPPF/Western Hemisphere Region has offered financial and technical support to  Centro de Investigacion, Educacion y Servicios (CIES).

In 1995, CIES became an affiliated organization of IPPF/WHR. 

CIES provides reproductive health services in eight cities. These include a wide range of contraceptive methods including:

• voluntary surgical contraception
• PAP smears
• Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) diagnosis and treatment
• maternal-child care
• birth delivery
• general medicine
• referrals for complications

CIES also has 125 physicians participating in our network of associated doctors, providing information, counselling and contraceptives in local  communities.

CIES has an ongoing communication strategy that:

• lobbies for women's reproductive rights
• educates on family planning
• STI prevention
• preventive women's health
• promotes CIES services and programmes
• gives information on location and hours of operation

CIES carries out an adolescent programme in EL Alto, La Paz and Sucre with special activities, peer counselling and clinical services tailored to their needs.

CIES' HIV awareness and prevention programme offers information to clients and special groups such as sex workers.
