Founded in 1984, the Bahamas Family Planning Association (BFPA) is the only private organisation providing family planning services in the Bahamas. We offer:

• counselling
• Pap smears
• contraceptives
• HIV/AIDS counselling
• medical services
• Norplant insertions and removals

We work with the government to provide family planning in clinics on 15 of the islands in the Bahamas archipelago.

BFPA currently also provides valuable information and education services throughout the Bahamian community to supplement the government family planning programme.

AIDS prevention and meeting the needs of adolescents and immigrant communities are emerging as programme priorities for the FPA, as reflected particularly in the Association’s information, education and communication (IEC) efforts.
