The IPPF European Network regional office is seeking to recruit
Lead - European advocacy & mobilization.
Possibility to work 80% or full time, 10 months fixed term contract, Maternity cover, starting Mid-January 2019.
Ready to promote a progressive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) agenda in Europe through both direct political advocacy towards mainly the EU and the Council of Europe as well as though supporting key actors to advocate at national level? Then join us in our International and European Affairs department.
Your responsibilities will include the drafting and implementation of the advocacy strategy as well as the contribution to the global advocacy strategy, bringing the European voice to the federation wide efforts. Your tasks will include – amongst others – to assess risks and opportunities in the current challenging political climate for SRHR, coordinating relevant responses across the membership as well as to document best practices, lessons and processes on narrative development and advocacy tactics to defend and promote SRHR.
You will manage the people of a 2 staff team and ensure the coordination with the other units of the office. You will also supervise specific advocacy projects, ensuring the delivery of the objectives and the accountability to the donor.
In addition, you will be required to contribute together with the other leads to the overall planning and reporting cycle of the office as well as fund raising efforts.
We are looking for a team player with at least 6 years’ experience in political advocacy, including experience in the field of human rights & social affairs and demonstrating sound knowledge on the EU and Council of Europe structures and processes. You should have experience in overall management as well as specific project and people management. You should have a good track record of working in partnerships and taking up representation roles. You should have excellent organisational skills and be fluent in English. Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
